Definitely a head scratcher till I got to the end. I guess the St. Hilarius reference should have been a tip off. I shouldn’t read this kind of stuff before having my first cup of coffee. 😂
If it weren’t for the theme of kids movies, Dogma by Kevin Smith could have been added. Blasphemous?…..possibly. Hilarious?……absolutely. Inappropriate?…..110%
Jesus never, ever created a "Church" that allows a person to choose the way he/she wants to worship God. He showed His Apostles how they were to worship, especially at the Last Supper, promised He would be with them till the end of time, and likewise promised the Holy Spirit would accompany His bride. The Pope is the sign of unity. Throughout almost all of the Old Testament, a man led the people of God: Abraham, Noah, Moses, Joshua, (not necessarily in chronological order). God isn't doing something different by assigning a leader -- Peter -- and giving the Apostles the power to pass on their authority.
