Something that I forgot to write in my previous comment is that I do agree the MCU has declined, but my main reason is the increasing presence of moral problems (especially the acceptance of the homosexual lifestyle) that are appearing in them.
Well, I am one of those people who are still invested in the Marvel movie franchise and I enjoyed this film both times that I saw it. The movie is definitely not great but I feel that way about most of the MCU. I know a lot of people have the same opinion as you and it's understandable.
Since this is a Catholic blog, I wanted to point out that The Marvels is the first and only MCU film that actually has someone sincerely praying to survive a calamity and he is immediately encouraged by another character to do so. Such positive depictions of faith are so few and far between not just in superhero movies but in modern cinema in general so I was very delighted to see it in this film.
I pray we are done with super hero movies. There's been 6ish spider man's in my life and I'm only 30
