I think this is the first time I have heard anyone speak so positively about Jedi celibacy and you've got me thinking. I'm not suggesting a complete overhaul of the Jedi code (I live a celibate life myself but have never taken a religious vow), but I do think they should have reconsidered and/ or loosened their rules because of Anakin's unusual circumstances. I don't think it was an accident that Qui-Gon discovered him as a young child who already had an emotional attachment to his mother and not as a toddler. Instead, they tried to implement their regular rules for an obviously unique child and it wound up alienating him.
