That's awesome Jeremy! I went from anime hater to Miyazaki stan recently. I'd definitely recommend getting a couple more Miyazakis under your belt before jumping from Totoro to Mononoke. Totoro is a great starting point, and Porco Rosso, Ponyo, and Howl's Moving Castle would all be great next steps before moving onto the wilder stuff like Princess Mononoke, Boy and the Heron, and Spirited Away. Enjoy the journey, you've got some epic beauty ahead of you!
Hear hear. Please, if you haven't tried Miyazaki before, give this a try. His movies are heartwarmingly enchantingly wonderful.
I've been considering checking out more of these movies after watching "My Neighbor Totoro". I'll have to check this one out now for sure.
