The Banshees of Inisherin (2022)

It can be agreed by most that what is ugly and unpleasant in the world can motivate and push one to go out and search for the beautiful. In a world where it is all too common to be exposed to the handful of sequels, remakes, and cash-grab films, I feel it refreshing and life-giving when I find a genuinely heartfelt and insightful film to watch. The Banshees of Inisherin, written and directed masterfully by Martin McDonagh, takes place on the imaginary Irish island of Inisherin where the comedic and tragic story of a friendship takes place concerning two best friends Pádraic Súilleabháin (Colin Farrell) and Colm Doherty (Brendan Gleeson) when the latter of which abruptly decides to end the friendship out of the blue.
